Summary
You can…but it won't solve all your problems…
Process

- From the Menu
- Select INSERT
- Select Object…
- Select 'Microsoft Excel Worksheet'
- Done.
It's easy enough to edit – albeit a bit jumpy as you jump in and out of the table.
Acid
- Advantages:
- It truly is Excel
- It's sortable
- Considerations:
- It's editable…but not as easily as Word.
- Disadvantages:
- An embedded object cannot span multiple pages. That's an important limitation.
- Hitting Return in an Excel sheet moves you to the next cell, making it hard to have clean Multi-line entries per cell.
- Although maybe you wanted this instead: IT:AD:excel:HowTo:Combine Two Cells Into One
- Bolding one part of an Excel cell is…not possible.
- It's really hard to lock column sizes, so the result will probably be junk.
Tips
* If you distort it by accident, you can reset the size by right-clicking the grid, selecting Format Object, Size, and selecting Reset to get everything back to 100% x 100%. * You can embed multiple lines in a cell: IT:AD:excel:HowTo:Use Alt-enter To Insert A Line Break * You can resize embedded columns by right-clicking a column and setting the size of the column to a fixed Character width.
- Note that it seems a decent grid width adds up to 80 (something like 10+50+10+10).
