BOSCARD stands for: Background, Opportunities, Scope, Constraints, Assumptions, Roles, Deliverables.

Although good, over time I've felt that it's missing mentioning other key concepts. BOSCARD+ would be:

  • Stakeholders (Identify key IT:AD:RASCI stakeholders)
  • SWOT (sometimes referred to as the Problem Definition and/or Opportunities)
  • Drivers (these are the Concerns of key stakeholders)
  • Goals (can be under Objectives)

  • Objectives
• Stakeholders
• Scope [In/Out]
• [Dependencies]
• Constraints
• Assumptions
• Risks
• [Issues]
• Deliverables
• Governance (ie Roles)
• Approach (for added clarity)
