IT:AD:Design:Architecture
Summary
Architecture is about what is delivered, not how (which is more of a IT:AD:Design:Technical concern).
Note: the Agile manifesto believes in Emergent Architecture1). The SAFe framework has an excellent response to that:

Notes
The role of the various forms of Architects is already covered in IT:PM:Team/Roles/Architects.
The deliverable of this phase is the Solution Architecture Document (IT:AD:Documentation:Solution Architecture Description (SAD) Document).
An memorable distinction between Architecture and Development that I came across was the following:
Whereas [[IT/AD/Patterns//]], etc. are about the *masonry* of development, [[IT/AD/Design/Architecture/]] is about the overall present and future purpose and location of the castle, keep, moat, courtyard functions, and potentially village around the castle, and roads up to the castle.
