Once again, acting cowardly
This was obviously going to happen:
Arsen Avakov, the new Ukrainian interior minister, said the sudden and unannounced Russian deployment amounted to a "military invasion and occupation" of his country's territory.
The question was: what was the US and Europe going to do about it?
I didn't want to believe it to be so. But of course it is:
John Kerry, the US secretary of state, said that America was watching to see if Russian military movements in Crimea "might be crossing a line in any way".
Not sure what line there is left to cross beyond invasion.
The Japanese should learn from this and worry: history shows us that the US won't honour their promise to come to their defense.
Sad day.
More proof that they the US can't call itself a great country if they won't do great things (they didn't last time, and they won't this time): http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/02/world/europe/russia-to-pay-not-so-simple.html?action=click&contentCollection=Europe®ion=Footer&module=TopNews&pgtype=article
